Roakus-E

Air conditioning installer in Flanders

A modern air conditioner cools in summer and heats in winter, more economically than electric heating and often more economically than gas. Roakus-E installs split and multi-split systems in homes, offices and shops across Flanders and makes sure the electrical connection is in order at the same time. Quotes and explanations in English or Dutch.

What we install

We install air conditioners from established brands with a good energy class and quiet indoor units. The choice depends on the room, the insulation and whether you mainly want to cool or also to heat.

The outdoor unit goes on a rear facade, a flat roof or the ground, on anti-vibration mounts and away from bedroom windows. In an apartment building the building association has to agree to its placement; we provide a short technical note for that.

  • Single split: one outdoor unit and one indoor unit, for a bedroom, office or living room
  • Multi-split: one outdoor unit and several indoor units, for several rooms
  • Air conditioning with heating function as main or supplementary heating
  • Air-to-air heat pump for homes without central heating
  • Maintenance and repair of existing installations

6% VAT for homes older than 10 years

For a home that is more than ten years old, the reduced VAT rate of 6% applies to the installation of air conditioning with a heating function, provided the home is mainly used privately and the installer carries out the work. We confirm at the site visit whether your home qualifies, then apply the rate on the invoice and ask you to sign the required declaration. If you are new to Belgium, we explain what the declaration says before you sign it. Homes under ten years old and offices pay the standard rate of 21%.

Heat pump

If you want to heat your home entirely with electricity, we look at whether a heat pump fits. An air-to-air heat pump is an air conditioner that also heats; an air-to-water heat pump connects to your radiators or underfloor heating. We size both on the heat loss of the house, not on a brochure. Read more on the heat pump page.

Frequently asked questions

What does air conditioning cost installed?

The price depends on the brand, the capacity, the number of indoor units and the pipe length between the indoor and outdoor unit. After the site visit you receive a fixed price in the quote.

Can I heat with air conditioning too?

Yes. All the units we install have a heating function. In a well insulated home it can be the main heating.

Does 6% VAT apply to my home?

Under conditions: your home is more than ten years old, it is mainly used privately and you sign a declaration. We confirm this at the site visit and then apply the rate on the invoice.

How much noise does the outdoor unit make?

Modern outdoor units produce around 45 to 50 dB at one metre, comparable to a quiet fridge. We mount them on anti-vibration mounts and take the neighbours into account.

Does air conditioning need maintenance?

An annual service keeps the installation efficient and extends its life. We offer a service visit in which we check the filters, the condensate drain and the electrical connection.
