Air conditioning installation in Antwerp
Top-floor apartments and houses with large south-facing windows get uncomfortably warm in an Antwerp summer. Roakus-E installs split and multi-split air conditioning in homes and offices across the city and its districts, with the heating function for spring and autumn, and takes care of the electrical circuit at the same time. We work in English and Dutch.

Placing the outdoor unit in the city
The outdoor unit is the practical question in Antwerp. On a terraced house it usually goes on the rear facade, on a flat roof or in the courtyard, never on the street side without permission. In an apartment the building association has to agree to a unit on the facade or the roof, and some associations have rules about placement and noise. We help you with a short technical note for the meeting. Modern units produce around 45 to 50 dB at one metre, comparable to a quiet fridge, and we mount them on anti-vibration feet with the pipework in a neat duct.
Indoors we choose wall units that are quiet enough for a bedroom, and for a loft or a large open living space a unit with enough capacity to cope with the heat load from the roof.
- Single split for one room: bedroom, home office or living room
- Multi-split with one outdoor unit for two to four rooms
- Heating function as main or supplementary heating
- Separate circuit and protection in the fuse box, included
- Maintenance and repair of existing installations
6% VAT for homes older than ten years
Belgium applies a reduced VAT rate of 6% instead of 21% to the installation of air conditioning with a heating function in a home that is more than ten years old, provided the home is mainly used privately and the installer carries out the work. Whether your home qualifies depends on those conditions, and we confirm it at the site visit. We then apply the rate on the invoice and ask you to sign a short declaration. For a rented home the same rule applies; the age of the building counts, not who lives in it.
Cooling and heating in one system
Every unit we install is a heat pump in reverse as well: it heats in winter at a fraction of the electricity an electric heater would use. In a well insulated apartment that can be the main heating, and in a house with gas central heating it is a cheap way to heat one room in the shoulder seasons. We size the unit on the room, the glazing and the insulation, not on a brochure, and explain the remote control and the app at handover.

Frequently asked questions
Can I install air conditioning in a rented apartment?
With the landlord's approval and, for the outdoor unit, the agreement of the building association. We provide a quote in English and Dutch and a short technical note on placement and noise.
What does it cost in Antwerp?
The price depends on the brand, the capacity, the number of indoor units and the length of the pipework. After the site visit you get a fixed price in the quote, with 6% VAT if your home qualifies (older than ten years and mainly used privately).
How long does the installation take?
A single split takes one day, a multi-split one to two days. In an apartment we plan the facade work on a day the building manager agrees to.
