EV charger installation in the Kempen
With a driveway, a garage and often a roof full of solar panels, a house in the Kempen is the easy case for a home charger. Roakus-E is based in Mol and installs chargers in Geel, Turnhout, Herentals, Balen, Dessel, Retie and Westerlo, with smart charging on your own solar power and the inspection and Fluvius registration included.

On the driveway or in the garage
In the Kempen the charger usually goes on the garage wall or on a post beside the driveway. We look at where the car normally parks, where the charging port sits and how far the fuse box is, and choose a spot that keeps the cable short and out of the way. Outdoor units are rated for rain and frost and can be locked, so a charger on the driveway is as practical as one inside.
For a new build we lay the empty conduit to the driveway before the paving goes in, even if the charger comes later. That saves digging up the drive a few years on.
- Charger of 7.4 kW on single phase or 11 kW on three phase
- Separate circuit and protection in the fuse box
- Smart charging that uses the surplus of your solar panels
- Dynamic load management to keep below the capacity tariff peak
- Inspection and registration with Fluvius
Charging on your own solar power
Most of our customers in the Kempen have solar panels. A charger with solar mode charges the car on the surplus during the day, which is worth a lot more than exporting that power to the grid for a few cents. In combination with a home battery or a smart controller we also keep the household peak down, which matters for the capacity tariff on the digital meter. If you charge at night, dynamic load management makes sure the charger and the heat pump do not push the connection over its limit.
Company cars and international staff
Many people working at SCK, the research campus in Mol or the companies around Geel drive a leased electric company car. Employers and leasing companies usually require the charging at home to be measured by a certified meter and reported through their platform, so the cost is reimbursed correctly. We install chargers with that metering built in and link them to the platform your employer uses. We handle the whole process in English, including the registration of the charger with Fluvius, which is mandatory for every home charger in Flanders.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need three phase for a home charger?
No. On a single-phase connection a 7.4 kW charger fills most cars overnight. For 11 kW you need three phase, which many newer houses in the Kempen already have.
Can the charger use my solar panels?
Yes. We set it to charge on the surplus from the panels and only draw from the grid when needed.
Is the registration with Fluvius really mandatory?
Yes, for every home charger in Flanders. We do it for you as part of the installation, together with the inspection.
